Under the Electronic Transactions
Ordinance (Cap.553) ("ETO"), we accept electronic
records and digital signatures as fulfillment of the submission
requirements under the Insurance
Companies Ordinance (Cap.41) ("ICO").
Electronic information can be submitted in
the following manners:
- through electronic mail to the designated
e-mail address of iafiling@oci.gov.hk
; or
- in the case of floppy
diskette or CD-ROM, to our Office's address at 21st Floor,
Queensway Government Offices, 66 Queensway, Hong Kong.
Please note that electronic submission must
be made in accordance with the format, manner and procedure
stipulated under section 11(2) of the ETO. For details, please
refer to the relevant Gazette Notice.
Under the insurance regulatory framework,
insurers are required to submit statistical returns to the
Insurance Authority ("IA") on a quarterly and
annual basis. To facilitate data input and submission by the
insurers, the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance has
developed electronic input templates ("e-templates")
for the statistical returns.
The input templates and User Guides of the returns are available for downloading from Returns/Forms. For the manner, format and procedures for the electronic submission of e-templates, please refer to the Explanatory Note [PDF]. For completion of statutory returns which involve multiple signatories and the attachment of an auditor's report, please refer to the Sample Workflow [PDF].
